Quality-control inspections are another important portion of the program. It allows the administrators to review the program from the customer’s perspective. It also gives an insight to the work completed by the contractors. As the program moves into these reviews, we want to ensure all contractors fully understand the importance of accurately billing the program for direct install measures (DIM) and equipment rebates.

Installation

DIM must be installed for the homeowner by the participating contractor assigned to the assessment; absolutely no materials are to be left with a homeowner uninstalled if you are billing the program for the measures.

Rebated equipment must be installed for the homeowner by the participating contractor or their subcontractor and must be new to the home; no claims of previously installed or inaccurately represented equipment will be paid for.

Program Maximums

To maintain the program funds allotted, a maximum is placed on the DIM incentives given. The program requests the contractors to list the DIM installed even if they exceed the program maximum. This allows the program to accurately capture the savings provided to the customer. For billing purposes, if the DIM installed exceeds the program maximum, billing will be adjusted accordingly. The program has two maximum caps in place:

  1. The DIM total incentive cannot exceed $200.
  2. The water-heater pipe wrapping cannot exceed 4 feet.

Again, if a contractor chooses to exceed either maximum to assist or appease the customer, the program asks that this information is still listed, and the incentive cost will be adjusted during billing.
