The feedback from customers has been overwhelmingly positive about the limited time offers. The Assisted Home Performance with ENERGY STAR® Program consists of the same comprehensive home energy assessment and energy efficiency upgrades (see steps below) offered in the Home Performance program but with an additionally reduced costs. The program is available to income-qualified Delaware property owners (and renters via their landlord). ***From now through DECEMBER 31, 2020, program participants will see an additional reduced assessment fee of $25 FOR AN ASSESSMENT and INCREASED INCENTIVES FOR WEATHERIZATION WORK.***
PROGRAM STEPS
Step 1 - Request
To apply for the Assisted Home Performance program, fill out the Assisted Home Performance application form. Return via email to delawarehp@franklinenergy.com or mail to: AHPES, 23 Copper Dr. #3 Newport, DE 19804.
Step 2 - Assessment
After the application is approved, the assessment will be completed a reduced fee payable to the Energy Auditor. The assessor will use state-of-the-art diagnostic equipment and may conduct special tests to identify the energy-saving improvements that best fit your unique home and budget.
During the assessment, the assessor will provide and install the up to $200 worth of energy-saving measures in your home at no additional cost (with your permission). These measures include the following:
- Energy-efficient light bulbs, with options for dimmable, candelabra, and globe
- Faucet aerators
- Efficient-flow fixed showerheads
- Water heater pipe insulation (installed on hot and cold pipes for four feet from water heater, as accessible
The assessment will conclude with the Home Energy Assessment Summary Report reviewed by the assessor. Determine which improvements you would like to make and ask your contractor or Energy Auditor about available rebates.
Step 3 - Installation
Sign an agreement with the Participating Contractor you have selected. Your contractor will then submit your rebate application with a copy of your signed agreement to begin the rebate incentive application process with Energize Delaware. Energize Delaware’s Home Energy Efficiency Loan program is a great way to finance energy-saving home improvements. The low-cost loan helps make the home energy efficient while minimizing out-of-pocket costs.
Step 4 – Test Out/Final Inspection
The contractor will install the contracted energy efficiency improvements then perform final safety and health tests. You and the contractor are required to sign a Certificate of Completion. At this time, payment for services is due to your contractor.
Step 5 - Rebate
Once the final completed application is submitted by your contractor and approved, you will receive your rebate check within 4 to 6 weeks.
