Energy Auditors

Verification – A reminder to verify whether the customer is new to the program or returning prior to the assessment. Audits are valid for four years from the day the audit was completed. After the four-year timeframe, the customer is welcome to re-enter the program but must pay the full cost of the audit. If the assessment is less than four years old, the customer may re-enter the program and use the audit on file to qualify for rebates.

If the audit is expired, you are responsible for communicating to the customer that the audit will need to be paid in full, by them, to qualify for available rebates. Energize DE only covers one assessment per address.

Terms & Conditions – A reminder, there are two different Terms & Conditions documents. One for the assessment and one for the project. Remember to have the assessment Terms & Conditions Agreement signed before conducting all HPwES energy assessments. You can find this document within OptiMiser OR in the Ongoing Resources section of Energize Delaware’s Contractor Portal.

Assisted Home Performance with ENERGY STAR – We've seen a couple of project completions recently where the customer qualified for AHPwES but came through the Program as standard HPwES. Please be diligent in identifying potential AHPwES Customers. Our AHPwES income qualifications and customer application can be found on the Energize Delaware website, under Assisted Home Performance with ENERGY STAR.

eNavigator System Error - Our Efficiency Navigator platform does not accept apostrophes. Please be sure to remove any apostrophes from customer names when reserving rebates through our eNavigator platform.

PCOM Update - Notice

All Participating Contractors are asked to review the Participating Contractor’s Operations Manual for the latest update. The Program felt it was necessary to provide clearer guidance for air sealing projects, particularly when air sealing is incidental to other work performed. Energize Delaware Participants have one opportunity in the Program for this incentivized measure, so when air sealing work is performed it should address the entirety of the homes thermal & pressure boundaries not just one area in the home. Air sealing projects should align with the recommendations mentioned in the comprehensive energy assessment report (CEAR). As a reminder, all air sealing projects must provide pre & post Blower Door cfm50 results. This latest update documented below, is on page 17 of the PCOM.

Air Sealing

Air sealing projects in the Program will be directed at the thermal & pressure boundaries of the building. All attached areas of the building must be considered when addressing the entirety of the thermal & pressure boundaries. Zonal readings may be requested by the Program for verification purposes.

Air sealing always needs to accompany insulation. That is, when insulation is offered, the area must be air sealed. All thermal bypasses should be sealed prior to insulation regardless of reduction level.
