Over the last couple of months, the Program has made announcements concerning several items. As a reminder:
- Dual Fuel Systems: As of July 1, 2018 the Program will only incentivize the primary heating measure, per conditioned load zone (piece of equipment), and not the backup measure, per system.
- Smart Thermostats: As of June 1, 2018, the Program will only incentivize smart thermostats that are ENERGY STAR® certified. The list of ENERGY STAR certified smart thermostats can be found here: https://www.energystar.gov/productfinder/product/certified-connected-thermostats/results.
- Emergency Installations: As of May 14, 2018, the Program will only incentivize projects that adhere to the proper order of operations in the Delaware Home Performance with ENERGY STAR Program, which are:
- An assessment is conducted prior to (or during) the finalization of any work scope.
- An assessment should never be conducted after the installation of any mechanical equipment or weatherization measures.
- Direct Install Measures:
- All direct install measures submitted for reimbursement must be installed.
- LED lamps must only replace incandescent or halogen lamps. The Program will not incentivize LED lamps that replace CFL lamps.
